Turkey's MIT intelligence agency chief has met ‍Hamas' negotiating team head Khalil Al-Hayya and discussed necessary measures to be taken for proceeding to the second phase of the Gaza Strip peace plan, ‌Turkish security sources say.

The sources, speaking on ‍condition of anonymity, said MIT chief Ibrahim Kalin met the Hamas delegation in Istanbul within the scope of the Gaza Strip ‌ceasefire agreement and they discussed steps to be taken to prevent what ‍they said were Israel's ceasefire violations.

They also discussed measures to be taken to resolve existing issues for proceeding to the second phase of the plan, the sources also said, without giving details.

Representatives from ‍the United States, Egypt, Qatar and Turkey met on Friday in Miami, Florida, to review the next steps ‌on the ceasefire plan, according ‍to a joint statement issued on Saturday by US envoy Steve Witkoff.

"We reviewed ‌next steps in the phased implementation of the Comprehensive ‍Peace Plan for Gaza ... Further consultations will continue in the coming weeks to advance the implementation of phase two," the statement said.
