A familiar name to local footy fans lit up the goal-scoring column at Kialla Reserve in round three of the Goulburn Murray Junior League.

The Shepp Notre Bears responded from last week’s thrilling loss at the hands of Shepparton United by doling out a 230-point defeat over Wandong in the under-16 competition.

Bears’ spearhead Alex Whitlock was dynamic with an 11-goal haul, while Ryder Dudgeon, Archie Daniel, and Lewis Boswell were prominent.

Elsewhere, Shepparton Swans also continued its strong start to the season, notching its third win courtesy of a 17.17 (119) to 2.2 (14) triumph over Alexandra.

Zayd Gibson (four goals), Levi Duffy and Lloyd Akers shone for the second-place Swans, setting the stage for a promising season ahead.

In a round of blowout results, the Shepparton United and Kyabram clash stood out for its momentum swings.

After a sluggish start left them 19 points behind at quarter-time, the Bombers roared back to life, unleashing a blistering seven-goal blitz in the second quarter to snatch the lead.

However, through the efforts of Addison Godsmark, Zaine Atkinson-Mcguinness, and Jarrah Atkinson (three goals), the Demons fended off Ky’s assault to claim a 21-point win and go 3-0.

In other results, Tatura were 72–33 victors over Seymour, Echuca Bombers notched a 216-point win over Moama, while club mates Echuca Murray Bombers were commanding against Tongala in a 117-26 win.
