An adventurer in real life but a writer on paper, author Noel Braun has been able to integrate the best of both worlds in his newest novel and is bringing his book tour to the region.

No Comfort on a Chilly Night is inspired by his trekking experiences.

In 2010, Mr Braun trekked the 825km long path of Camino De Santiago at the age of 77 for the first time.

Now 13 years later and at the age of 90, Mr Braun has travelled the road many times since then, and it has been the source of inspiration for three books, including his newest novel No Comfort on a Chilly Night.

The romance novel is focused on relationships impacted by distance.

Felix Schmidt is backpacking on the Camino De Santiago when he meets the love of his life, Pascaline, from France.

He brings her back to Australia, where they embark on their life together, only for things to start going awry when he starts to sacrifice his love for her in pursuit of his career.

Mr Braun pursued his lifelong dream of writing and publishing books after retiring from a busy career spanning from teaching to corporate work on top of raising his family.

This isn’t his first book surrounding the Camino de Santiago de Compostela trek.

He has published three explorations of the trek, which include The Day was Made for Walking, I Guess I’ll Just Keep on Walking and Keep Pressing On, Brother.

He has also published two previous novels, including Friend and Philosopher and Whistler Street and a memoir, No Way to Behave at a Funeral, about his grief journey following the death by suicide of his wife, Maris.

Mr Braun will visit several libraries across the region. To attend a session, please contact Goulburn Valley Libraries on 1300 374 765 or email gvlibraries@gvlibraries.com.au
