Entries open for Fed Art Prize

For 22 years, the Federation Art Prize has made a significant impact on the local art scene.

The popular competition is now open for entries giving local artists have the chance to showcase some of their best work.

Artists are invited to submit works in the following categories: Federation Art Prize, Two-Dimensional Award, Three-Dimensional Award, Young Artist Award (18-25 years), and Artist Under 18 years. All entries are eligible for the Federation Art Prize acquisition.

The Federation Art Prize is an annual art competition and exhibition promoting and celebrating outstanding original works of art. This year the competition has a total prize pool valued at $7,500, with the major prize worth $3,000.

During the last three years, art sales and values have increased annually representing a fantastic opportunity for those looking to enter their work for judging, exhibition, and potential to sell their work.

The exhibition will be held from October 15 until November 1 offering art lovers the chance to celebrate local and Australian artists. The exhibition is selected and adjudicated by an appointed panel of three judges.

The committee recently announced winner of the 2021Fed Art Prize 2D category Alexandra Plim would be on the panel.

Alexandra is an emerging Sydney based artist working from her home studio in Lewisham. Her work is exhibited in several Australian galleries including, The Moree Gallery (NSW), Purple Noon Gallery (Sydney) and Fenton and Fenton (Melbourne). Alexandra has also held four solo exhibitions.

The Federation Photography Prize will return in early 2023 - photography is not accepted into the Federation Art Prize.
