On Sunday, May 4, Goulburn Valley Aero Club, with the support of Shannons Club Shepparton, presented the Wings and Wheels 2025 Car Show and Fly-In at the Shepparton Aerodrome.

To support the vital work of the Shepparton Search and Rescue Squad, the GV Aero Club has been organising annual Fly-In and Cruise-In events for the past five years, bringing regional aero and car clubs together to raise funds for a significant cause.

With just a gold coin donation, visitors of all ages experienced a trip down the runway with 12 aircraft, showcased alongside 90 meticulously restored classic show cars.

GV Muscle Car Group member and chief judge Ian Watt and fellow members of the group acted as judges for the final critique.

In the end, the Shannons Trophy for the Car of the Show went to Stuart McNabbs’s hot rod, at what was its first event since being built.

“I am pleased with the results that we have been able to get for the Shepparton Search and Rescue squad by joining an event with aviation and automotive enthusiasts,” GV Aero Club president Simon Greig said.

Car fanatics can look forward to a series of events at the Aerodrome in the upcoming months, including:

  • All Japanese Car Day — Monday, June 9
  • All 4 x 4 Day — Saturday, August 16
  • A Topless Show for Convertibles — Sunday, September 28
  • Another car and aircraft event, Road and Runaways — Sunday, November 16
