Things got a little frosty but full of heart at East Shepparton Bowls Club on Thursday, June 12, as members slid into action for the Big Freeze the Bowls Way.
Inspired by proud Melbourne Demons supporter Pamela Hueston, the event added a special twist to the club’s regular winter competition.
“I thought it would be a good idea to have a gold coin donation for MND on that particular day,” Hueston said.
Thirty-six ladies took to the greens for two lively games before warming up with afternoon tea all in support of motor neurone disease research.
Their efforts raised $100 and plenty of smiles, proving that a little teamwork can go a long way.
Bowls, biscuits and a brilliant cause — now that’s how you freeze the day.
