Seventeen people are dead and 20 others are injured after a bus carrying school children fell off a cliff in a rural area in northern Colombia.
In a post on X, the governor of Antioquia, Andres Julian, said the bus was travelling from the Caribbean town of Tolu to Medellin after a school trip and was carrying students from the Antioqueño High School.
Around 40 passengers were travelling on the bus, which plunged into a ravine near Segovia, according to media reports.
The injured were taken to hospital with most of them aged between 16 and 18.
The students had been celebrating their graduation on the beach, Julian added.
"It's very hard news for the entire community during the time of December," he said.
Colombia's National Road Safety Agency is investigating the cause of the crash.
