Notre Dame college presents The Comedy of Errors

A whirlwind of chaos, mistaken identities and long-lost twins, this free show put on by Notre Dame’s Year 11 theatre students promises to have you clutching your sides with laughter.

Sydney Writers’ Festival in Shepparton

Exploring themes of feminism, love, loss and the philosophies of war, the festival is full of touching and relevant pieces by talented authors. Head to Shepparton Library to enjoy a day of free live-streamed author talks, discussion and refreshments.

When: Sessions run all day Friday to Sunday, starting 10am and wrapping up at 6pm.

Saturday

New Monash Park signage

Discover the history of early Shepparton at the unveiling of 16 new panels in Monash Park. These panels feature historic images and narratives that describe the pivotal events and industries that shaped Shepparton from the riverbank behind Welsford St, proudly presented by the Shepparton Heritage Centre and Greater Shepparton City Council. There will be guest speakers, and afternoon tea and refreshments will be provided.

Autumn Festival of Orchids

Stroll among stunning floral displays and arrangements courtesy of the Goulburn Valley Orchid Club or seek wisdom through potting demonstrations and expert flower growing advice – there’s something for everyone. A plant sale, raffle and competitions will also be featured.

The GV Wardrobe is hosting an in-person shopping experience with over 2000 second-hand clothes to browse through. Cash and card payments and change rooms are available. Many sizes, brands and styles will be available, all in like-new condition, all just $10.

Merrigum Football Netball Ladies Day

Celebrate the women of the Merrigum Football Netball Club and Lancaster Football Netball Club while supporting a cause that impacts many. All money raised will go toward VincentCare’s Marian Community to support women and children experiencing family violence. Raffle, food and drink available for purchase.

Rushworth Speedway

The speedway will be having its last meet of the season. With the GP Midgets, AMCAS, all GV classes and the VSC ladies’ sports sedans all vying for the annual Marg Beattie Memorial, it’s sure to be an exhilarating evening of racing.

Circus Skills Workshop

The circus (skills workshop) has come to town! This event is the perfect opportunity to sharpen your skills or try something new. Open for all ages and abilities, the activities at Cussen Park offer a glimpse at what a life in the big top has in store.

Playing for Pleasure

Mooroopna Country Music Club

Country music lovers rejoice. Guest artist Andy Dee will perform alongside anyone brave enough to tackle the challenge as a walk-up. There will be a live band, and drinks available at bar prices. There are also door prizes and lucky dip to be won.

Australian Botanic Gardens Annual Open Day

The theme of ‘more than just a garden…’ is being celebrated in botanical gardens across the country, including Shepparton. Enjoy a performance by Shepp Sings, children’s activities, water bug identification and a bird display. A sausage sizzle and coffee van will also be available, as well as a plant sale (cash only).
