Shepparton brothers Liam Brown, 27, and Luke Brown 37, are facing Shepparton County Court over a house fire that was lit while three people slept inside.
Video played to the court showed the moment Liam tried to light a television on fire while Luke watched on.
One of the occupants of the house slept only metres away.
