Revved and ready for a ride

The Deniliquin Motorcycle Association track is in 'pristine' condition after preparation works and a working bee.

The Deniliquin Motorcycle Association will host 150 riders for round three of the Northern Region Motocross Series this Sunday.

The Northern Region Series consists of clubs within Victoria participating in a MX series.

It is for motocross riders aged seven and older.

Clubs consist of Albury, Wodonga, Alpine, Goulburn Valley, Winton, Robinvale, Broadford, Deniliquin and Cobram who each host rounds.

Flag marshalling duties will be carried out by Deniliquin High School Year 12 students.

The club says the weather looks like it will be perfect for racing, and said spectators are more than welcome to come along.

The track is located on Larcombe Lane – between the Deniliquin racecourse and Deniliquin Sporting Car club track.

Entry is free and a full canteen will be operating, opening with breakfast.

The club was successful in obtaining funding from Deniliquin Community Group to purchase a pie warmer and an outdoor aluminium table, which will be utilised on the day.

Gates open at 2pm Saturday for those who would like to camp, and rider sign-in begins at 7am Sunday.

In anticipation of a big weekend, club secretary Andrew McBurnie said a working bee was held on Saturday.

“The club would like to thank all those who came to the working bee to prepare the track and grounds for the regions.

“The track is in pristine condition and grounds are neat and tidy”.

He also thanked South Deni Concrete, Murray Construction, Lumbar’s Transport, KB Engineering and Kale Makeham for donating their time and resources over the past few weeks to prepare.
