Bamawm-Lockington United has continued its unbeaten streak in the 2025-26 McMahon Shield, laying waste to Leitchville-Gunbower in round four.
L-G got off to a rough start on its home deck of Gunbower Recreation Reserve after winning the toss and electing to bat, with opener Scott Lucas being dismissed for an eight-ball duck by Noah Turner in the fourth over.
Things didn’t get much better as Jeremy Felmingham struck twice in successive deliveries, trapping Tyler Jones (9) lbw and bowling Simon Tatt for a golden duck.
Felmingham snared his third when Jasper Hare nicked off to Regis Chakabva for 10, leaving the host reeling at 4-30.
After the dismissal of Jason Keath (13), L-G managed to find some consistency through Blake Gibson and Jye Keath.
The pair batted through until the 23rd over, when Gibson (9) was caught by Greg Pearse off Prateer Mehta’s bowling.
Jimmy Gelletly (2) lasted just three deliveries, being trapped lbw by Thomas Dicker before L-G’s strongest hope to get through the innings, Keath (26), suffered the same fate three balls later.
From there, Zac Hegarty (9 off 25) and Dallas Price (6 off 34) managed to hold out for their side without managing to add many more runs to the total, as the side was bowled out for 87 in 36 overs.
It took less than 20 overs for the Lions to chase L-G’s meagre total, losing the wickets of Chakabva (11), Kade Pearse (8) and Kaydn Blachford (6) before Woody Wilson (37 not out) and Luke Thomspon (24 not out) guided their side home comfortably.
With the ball, Felmingham recorded game-best figures of 4-19, with L-G’s Blake Gibson the only multi-wicket taker for his side with 2-47.
The decisive victory keeps BLU undefeated heading into round five with Moama in front of it on the ladder, and will be hunting more reward against winless Nondies-Cohuna away on Saturday.
Speaking of the Mowers, L-G will have its toughest test yet, facing the ladder leaders at Moama Recreation Reserve in round five.
