Christopher Horman was the only Bomber to kick more than one goal against Mt Pleasant in round three.

The Mighty Mounts continued their monumental charge to the Heathcote District Football League premiership with a dominant display over Leitchville-Gunbower in round three.

Despite being in the hunt in the first quarter and kicking a pair of goals, Mt Pleasant looked on top throughout the contest, nailing five majors in the opening stanza.

The Mighty Mounts’ 20-point quarter-time lead only continued to grow throughout the rest of the contest, when the Bombers could only add 1.1 to their tally in the second period.

Meanwhile, Mt Pleasant kicked a further 4.2 to make the disparity 39 at half-time.

L-G could only manage two goals for the entirety of the second half, leading Mt Pleasant to completely overrun the Bombers’ 50.

Kicking a staggering 7.6 in the third term and backing it up with a humble 2.2 in the fourth meant the Mighty Mounts’ margin ballooned out to a dominant 86-point victory.

The final score was L-G 5.2 (32) to Mt Pleasant 18.10 (118).

The Mighty Mounts’ Mitchell Bennett continued his strong run of goal-kicking form, adding six more majors to his already impressive 2025 tally.

Christopher Horman (2) was the only Bomber to crack more than one goal, with Blake Dye, Joshua Edgar and Billy Hawken each contributing one apiece.

Charles Hancock, Will Brereton, Kyle Green, Brady Hore, Jett Keam and Jye Keath were named the standouts for L-G in the loss.

L-G won’t have much time to lick its wounds when it returns home to take on third-place Colbinabbin, who comes off a tight win against LBU.
