Goulburn Murray Bowls Region has selected the teams to combat its Ovens and Murray neighbours in next month’s inter-regional challenge.

Scheduled to be held on Sunday, December 7 at Corowa Civic Bowls Club, the best-performed bowlers from the recent Rowland-Sutcliffe Trophy clash between the Goulburn Valley and Murray playing areas will make their final pitch for the Bowls Victoria Region Sides Championship.

A glance at the GMBR team sheet should indicate how determined it is to overcome the O&M.

The 16-player men’s and women’s squads will have rinks full of the GVPA and MPA talent combine to wrestle bragging rights from the O&M after last year’s defeat in the corresponding fixture at East Shepparton.

Then, all eyes will turn to the Region Sides Championship at Sebastopol.

The 16 regions under the Bowls Victoria banner will journey to the Ballarat region with their 24 best bowlers in tow, hoping to establish themselves as the premier champions of the greens.

Meanwhile, the popular GMBR-O&M rivalry will continue at Corowa on December 7.
