Summer is just around the bend and that means pre-season football is back on the menu for Goulburn Valley Suns after a short two-month break.
The Suns took on composite side Off Season Soccer Academy at Shepparton Sports City on Saturday, taking a 2-1 victory in warm conditions.
Jude Crichton’s first time strike that nestled in the top left corner had the Suns 1-0 up at the break, thought OSSA levelled proceedings in the second period courtesy of a fleeting counter-attack.
However, the Suns ultimately took bragging rights thanks to Laywi Niyonkuru’s headed finish, expertly guiding home a cross home from out wide.
The Suns’ road map to round one of the Victorian Premier League Two campaign on February 14 has been released, with a pre-season fixture featuring top-tier sides such as South Melbourne, Hume City and APIA Leichhardt.
