The inaugural Shepparton Nations Cup is under way, with Australia putting in a dominant performance in its first match against Pakistan.

Australia was in control of the match from start to finish as it defeated Pakistan 11-1, Cody Sellwood and Rowan Byrne doing the damage in front of goal as they both scored braces.

Pakistan’s lone goal scorer was Abid Ali.

The tournament consists of 10 teams which are divided into two groups. Each side plays four games in a bid to qualify for the knockout stage.

Round four of the Shepparton Nations Cup action begins on Thursday evening for Group B, with Italy taking on Albania at 6pm before Nepal plays Congo at 8pm.

On Friday, Group A will take to the field with Australia playing Afghanistan at 6pm before Middle East versus Türkiye at 8pm. All group stage matches are played at McEwen Reserve.
