The newly formed Coleambally-Barellan Three Blues hit the ground running at Ardlethan last Saturday for their first hit out as a team.
This team is a joint effort between both towns, to allow players to ‘get a game of footy’ for their home club.
Even though the team went down by six goals, they are applauded for their effort to don the Blues jumper and have a go.
Single goals went to Sam Strachan, Mason Ashcroft, Kallum Dawson and Nathan Hodgson.
With an under 17s team at Ardlethan, the reserve grade boys were stretched for numbers.
Coach Lachlan Evans would like to thank the younger fellas for stepping up and helping out against players much more experienced and older.
Luke Baker was judged best on ground, ably helped by Adam Hardy, Matt Mannes and Sam Breed.
The first grade encounter was a battle for our newly formed team to lose by 51 points.
Jade Hodge, in his first game, was a real standout with four of the team’s eight goals, with James Buchanan chipping in with two and singles to Curtis Steele and Tom Groves.
Darcy Mader sole rucked all day to be adjudged best a field with Chris Hayes, Jade Hodge & Curtis Steele trying their best.
