The Campaspe Tennis Association will have its second shot at getting back on the court for the first time in 2023 this weekend.

The season was meant to resume last weekend, but the scheduled matches were called off due to the extreme heat.

It was the seventh round of action that has been lost this season, on top of the six-week delay to the start of the season due to the flood crisis across the region and rain.

This Saturday, however, with the temperature expected to be at a more mild 29℃, play looks set to resume.

A blockbuster meeting will headline the week 12 action, with Echuca 1 set to take on Rochester 1.

The two sides sit in first and second on the ladder, with the clash also a rematch of last season’s grand final.

Echuca 1 got the wood over Rochester 1 in the finale back in March 11-96 to 2-57, but Rochester has been the team to beat this time around.

Rochy is a perfect 3-0 so far this season, leading the way just ahead of Echuca 1 in second and LBU 2 in third, who have three wins and one loss apiece.

Elsewhere, Echuca 2 (2-1) will be hoping to keep in touch with the leading pack when they take on bottom side LBU 1 (0-4).

Echuca 3 (0-3) will also be on the hunt for its first win when it takes on Rich River 1 (1-2), which itself will be aiming to climb into the top four. LBU 2 is out of action with the bye.

In division two, league leaders Elmore 1 (4-0) will also have to wait another week to get back on court due to the bye.

There are two other undefeated sides in division two, but that number will be reduced to one come Saturday night.

Second-placed Echuca 4 (3-0) will take on Echuca 7 (3-0), with only the victor being able to retain their spotless win-loss record.

In other matches, Rochester 2 (1-3) will face Echuca 5, (1-3) while either Colbinabbin (0-3) or Echuca 6 (0-3) will earn their first win of the season when those two teams face off.
