The Coleambally B-grade Nomads have started the year in the winning circle, defeating inter-club opponents the Exies Eagles by 33 runs at Ted Smith Oval, Coleambally.
After two ducks from the opening batting partnership on Saturday, the Nomads’ middle order seized control.
Jack Weymouth-Smith scored 27 off 28 balls and captain Shaun Iddles dropped anchor with 11 off 31 balls.
This allowed the hot form of Jacob Breed to continue with 56 off 59 balls - the mainstay of the innings.
However, even with little contributions down the order, the team was bowled out in the 30th over.
With the ball, chief destroyer Iddles claimed 4/10 off 5.4.
Breed once again chipped in taking 2/18 off five and old stager Neil Burke had them bamboozled with his leggies with 2/7 off three.
With a few wickets from Chris Iannelli, Exies were rolled for 112 in the 32nd over.
