Tocumwal’s senior side was very focused all week to prepare for this important game against Rennie.
The Bloods had some important inclusions returning from injury in the likes of Cory Parish, Jordan Lavis, Jon-Ross Cardillo and Glenn Dominick.
After a fairly even start in the first quarter, with two goals each on the board, both teams were up and about and had come to play.
After the first break, Rennie stepped it up a gear to put on six majors compared to only one from Toc, despite a similar amount of inside 50s by both sides.
It was clear that Rennie had a home ground advantage at this point in the game and was making every shot on goal count.
The third quarter was a real battle with Drew Haebich, Brock McCabe and Duane Haebich raising the intensity.
Tocumwal managed to kick five goals to four.
Jon-Ross Cardillo continued to be at his niggling best, keeping his quality opposition number to a minimum of touches.
The back six kept their opponents honest, but lacked some drive and accuracy out of their back half to rebound and put Toc into attack.
The final quarter saw Tocumwal continue to battle hard, but not make the most of their opportunities only managing two points.
