The future of dairy will be in the spotlight at the 2025 Dairy Research Foundation Symposium, where farmers, scientists, and industry leaders will come together to share insights, challenge thinking, and spark fresh ideas.

Held at WIN Stadium in Wollongong on November 26 and 27, the Symposium theme “IT’S TIME” reflects the industry’s need to connect, learn, and be inspired.

Dairy farmers, researchers, and industry leaders will come together to explore the latest breakthroughs shaping the future of dairy — including a Tasmanian farmer’s life-changing experience with virtual fencing.

Tasmanian dairy farmer Troy Ainslie will share how virtual fencing transformed his approach to pasture management and helped him “think outside the square.” More importantly, the technology supported his recovery from the burnout of day-to-day dairy farming, giving him a renewed outlook on both business and lifestyle.

DRF director Yani Garcia said the program offers a rare opportunity to hear directly from innovators and leaders:

“This is an event where science meets practice,” Professor Garcia said.

“Delegates will gain new perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing dairy today, from genetics and climate adaptation to new management technologies.”

Highlights of the two-day program include:

  • Day One: Leading speakers on topics such as harnessing the power of the cow, the genetic future of dairy, and redefining grazing in a changing climate. The program also features the highly anticipated Emerging Scientist Awards.
  • Day Two: The Dairy Australia Annual General Meeting, followed by the Dairy Innovation Farm Tour at Philip and Craig Tate’s Albion Park property – a showcase of progressive dairy farming in action.

This year’s Symposium is about giving industry TIME to connect, learn and be inspired.

Delegates are encouraged to secure their place early for what promises to be a thought-provoking and energising event. Don’t miss this opportunity to invest your TIME in the future of dairy.
