A driver was allegedly more than three times the legal blood-alcohol limit when he was breath-tested by police on Sunday.

A driver was allegedly more than three times the legal alcohol limit when stopped by police in Murchison East as part of a statewide road operation.

A man allegedly recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.154 when he was pulled over by police as he exited Cassidys Rd at 6.25pm on Sunday, November 2.

The Mitsubishi Triton he was driving was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1280.

The 28-year-old Bundoora man’s driver’s licence was also immediately suspended.

He will be charged on summons with drink-driving to face Shepparton Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

The man was picked up as part of Operation Furlong, which saw police out in force on the state’s roads from Friday, October 31, to Tuesday, November 4.
