Holstein Australia’s South Australian sub-branch held their 45th annual All Breeds Calf and Handlers Day at Murray Bridge in April.
The event was well attended with about 60 participants and 70 animals on show.
Senior Champion Heifer was Froglands Mr Bright Ranunculus owned by Chris Thompson and Toby Zilm from Toris Holsteins and Jerseys.
Reserve Senior Champion Heifer was Zenith Park Jets Fortune owned by Niki and Jackie Davies.
Senior Champion Handler was Chris Thompson and reserve was Indie Guidolin.
Junior Champion Handler was Lachlan Fiebiger and reserve was Maree-Sage Morter-Grant.
The ring was presided over by Luke Gardiner from Avonlea Holsteins.
Event organiser Courtney Afford said the event, which was open to all dairy breeds, was a great success.
“It is a great opportunity for anyone to come along and develop their skills.
“We have classes from handlers to fancy dress as well,” Courtney said.
Courtney said she had been involved in the show since she was little helping her mum, who was also once an organiser of the show.
