This year’s recent Sydney Royal Show youth challenge has been declared a success with over 100 kids taking part.

Emily Brown from Katunga had the job of keeping all the kids in line, judging her first ever youth challenge.

Emily was expecting maybe six or seven teams but when the number passed 10, she said she had to get a bit creative.

She said young people from all over Australia participated.

“The kids show up, put their name in a hat and are placed into a random team and all the teams did an incredible job,” Emily said.

Emily has a lifelong of cows and over the years has been involved in many different competitions. She said she loves to share her knowledge with the next generation.

“When it came to judging, I think they were looking for someone a little bit older with plenty of experience in handling and judging.

“It was a great experience for me and it was great to so many kids from around the country take part in the challenge,” Emily said.

Everyone gets involved in the youth challenge, no matter how old you are.
