Walk to remember those lost

Community members are being asked to support a walk on Sunday, September 14, which aims to raise funds which help people in crisis.

The Southern Riverina Wellbeing Collaborative will host an Out Of The Shadows Walk at Finley Lake, between 8am and 10am.

It is a walk to remember those lost to suicide, and to support other Australians.

“Tragically, every year over 65,000 Australians attempt to take their own life and over 3,000 Australians die by suicide,” the group shared on their fundraising page.

“Lifeline receives over one million contacts from people in crisis each year.

“Suicide has devastating impact on friends and loved ones.

“Together, we can ensure that no-one has to face their darkest moments alone.”

Funds raised by participants will be donated to Lifeline to provide suicide prevention services and support for Australians in need.

People are also welcome to go along to the lake to support the team on the day.
