Deniliquin proudly hosted the 46th Riverina Vietnam Veterans Reunion over the weekend.
The event welcomed 130 veterans and guests for a heartfelt memorial service, dinner dance, and barbecue lunch.
Now in its 46th year, the event remains Australia’s longest-running consecutive Vietnam Veterans reunion, celebrating service, remembrance, and enduring camaraderie.
A wrap from the weekend will be in this Friday’s Pastoral Times.
Take care on the roads
Community members have noticed an increase in road incidents in recent weeks.
Between Deniliquin and Finley, residents have spotted at least three motor vehicles left worse for wear by the side of Riverina Highway.
There was also a ute and caravan roll over on Friday evening (see page 3).
It is a timely reminder - especially as we enter the festive season - to please be careful to prevent further damage on the roads.

Cricketing tragedy tributes
Last week, there was the tragic news of the passing of Melbourne teenager Ben Austin during cricket training last week.
Austin was taken to hospital in a critical condition after being struck in the neck by a ball at training at Ferntree Gully, in Melbourne's outer east, Tuesday last week.
While the Deni Rhinos A-grade side had a bye on the weekend, the B-grade senior side and junior Rhinos teams have been playing as part of cricket during the week around the district.
B-grade players also wore black armbands, and placed a bat outside the change rooms with a Rhinos cap on in it in tribute to Austin.
