School holiday fun awaits in Echuca-Moama

Echuca-Moama and district towns offer plenty for families to enjoy during the school holiday break.

From visiting the local libraries, to watching an outdoor movie, there is a myriad of activities to enjoy.

Campaspe libraries

Campaspe libraries have a host of events and activities planned for children across the region.

Echuca library

April 14, 10.30am: toddler rhyme time. 3.30pm: scratch art. Create your own masterpiece using a board and scratching tool.

April 15, 10.30am: Easter craft. 3.30pm: fidget squish. A squishy fidget toy to make and take home.

April 16, 3.30pm: fidget fish. Play with the fidget fish that you will make. 5.30pm to 7pm: pizza and movie.

April 17, 11am: baby rhyme time. 2pm: movie.

Tongala library

April 15, 10am to noon: Lego and games. Choose a game to play or build an amazing Lego structure. Free play.

All Campaspe Shire libraries will be closed on the Good Friday public holiday.

Bookings are essential for most activities as places are limited, and children must be accompanied by an adult or carer during all activities.

Autumn Vibes

Campaspe Shire Council’s Autumn Vibes program is running during the holidays, helping you make the most of the season.

Enjoy an array of outdoor movie screenings where residents can relax under the stars with popular films that are ideal for all ages, including Wonka, at Apex Park, Echuca on April 17 from 6pm to 8pm.

For the younger or more active among us, a free bike skills clinic, complete with a live DJ to set the tone, is on Echuca East Recreation Reserve on April 17, from 2pm to 5pm.

Port of Echuca

The Port of Echuca offers visitors and locals an array of activities to enjoy all year round, even more so during school holidays.

As well as regular cruises on the historic paddlesteamers and guided walks through the port, a host of activities are planned of the school holidays.

Kids adventure tours run at 6pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, while people can venture into the precinct and enjoy the port after dark on April 18 and 19 at 8pm.

April 14-17, 10am to 4pm: petting zoo ― southern end rail yard, $5 per person.

April 18, 4pm to 7pm: static P.S. Pevensey music with Mark Peterson.

April 19, 10am to 4pm: pop-up park. Come along and enjoy Billabong Pony Rides ($15 a ride), learn from Turtles Australia and Wildlife Rescue, enjoy Find Your Feathers nature craft, visit the Landcare stall and enjoy a snack from Kiwanis food truck.

April 19, 9.30am to 4pm: Moama Historical Vehicle Club, Murray Esplanade. 10am to 4pm: Echuca Vintage Engine Club, southern end of rail yard. 1pm to 4pm: wharf music.

April 20, 10am to 4pm: Echuca Vintage Machinery Club, southern end of rail yard. 9.30am: roving Easter bunny. 1pm to 7.30pm: wharf music, Darcy Ramage from 1pm to 4pm, and Grim Fawkner from 4.30pm to 7.30pm. 7.30pm: fireworks. Fireworks viewing aboard static P.S. Pevensey will be open from 6pm to 8pm ($25 per person, tickets available for 70 people).
