A follow-up community survey has found a shift in local priorities, with Federation’s residents placing greater emphasis on road maintenance and improved council responsiveness.
The council’s Community Pulse survey, conducted by Micromex Research between September 29 and October 7, 2025, recontacted 128 participants from the 2024 Community Satisfaction Survey to track changes in sentiment.
Overall satisfaction with Council’s performance declined slightly to 63 per cent, down from 67 per cent in 2024.
Older residents were notably more satisfied (73 per cent) than those under 50 (53 per cent).
While most respondents (63 per cent) said their satisfaction had stayed the same, 29 per cent reported a decline, citing concerns about road conditions, maintenance services, and rising rates.
Visible infrastructure upgrades and positive experiences with new council staff were highlighted by eight per cent of residents who expressed improved satisfaction.
