A Shepparton street will see partial road closures and speed reductions for more than three months while works takes place.

Greater Shepparton City Council will undertake footpath, kerb and channel works on Lockwood Rd — between Old Dookie Rd and Benalla Rd — from Monday, September 8, to mid-December, weather permitting.

The project will be delivered in four sections over three months and will improve pedestrian safety and stormwater drainage along Lockwood Rd.

This map show the works area in Lockwood Rd.

Council said during construction, Lockwood Rd would remain open; however, partial lane closures, speed reductions and reduced car parking will be in place.

Traffic management will be operating, and some detours may be required.

Council asks road users and pedestrians to take extra care, follow all signage and obey directions from traffic controllers while works are under way.
