The Nagambie industrial precinct expansion has received a $900,000 grant through the Victorian Government’s Regional Infrastructure Fund.
The grant will be used to support the expansion of the precinct, improve transport access and linkages, and stimulate private investment in the precinct.
It is hoped the grant will create employment through investment in enabling transport infrastructure, access improvement, usability, safety and efficiency.
A key aspect of the project is the redevelopment of Habel Rd to support heavy vehicle use and link the Nagambie industrial precinct with the regional freeway network and intrastate and interstate markets.
The precinct has been identified as a high-priority project in supporting the opportunities set out in the Nagambie Growth Management Plan, and the project will support the town’s development.
The Regional Infrastructure Fund is part of the government’s $156 million Regional Jobs and Infrastructure Fund, which has been designed to help businesses create more jobs and community projects in regional Victoria.
State Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes said the fund was a reflection of the government’s desire to “continue to deliver promising outcomes for regional and rural Victorian communities by accelerating jobs and business growth”.
“Investments like the Nagambie industrial precinct expansion demonstrate how we are supporting the projects that matter while driving a much-needed economic boost across the state,” she said.
