Graeme and Rohan Sprunt, master breeders from Kaarmona Holstein and Jerseys recently held their second stage complete dispersal sale at Shepparton.
The sale top of $18,200 was achieved by outstanding Jersey heifer Kaarmona Caspian Lovelies 50, a daughter of an EX 90 Grant dam bred down from Kaarmona Daintree Lovelies VG 87. She was purchased by N and D Smith from Zeerust.
Second highest lot was Kaarmona Starlord Buoy 24, selling to Kings Ville Jerseys for $13,000 to R and K Anderson of Drouin West. She is a daughter of the Australian record priced cow Kaarmona Bosa Buoy 15 who sold at the milking herd dispersal in May for $54,000.
The same buyers also selected Kaarmona Starlord Buoy 25 due to Brady at $12,000 and Kaarmona Berry Babe 457 a daughter of Valentino Babe 292, EX 93 for $7,000.
Next top of $10,000 was Kaarmona DV Casino Vanessa 2, a very correct heifer bred from six generations of EX 92 or higher dams - she sold to L and A Bennett of Macorna.
The same buyers also selected Kaarmona Matt Arkona 113 EX 92, a six year old with records to 8656 litres and 771 kgs milk solids for $7,000.
The Jugiong herd paid $8,000 for five year old Jireh Casino Suzanne, EX 90. At the same price was Kaarmona Matt Sandy 15, EX 92 selling to Jakiah Jerseys.
Other noted Jersey sales included Kaarmona Victorious Babe 432, a rising two year old bred from a second generation EX 93 dam selling at $7,500 to Elms Park Jerseys and Kaarmona Sturgis Sleeping Beauty 15, bred from a third generation EX dam at $7,000 to Ashtaney Jerseys, SA.
Top selling Jersey bull was Kaarmona Berts Sandhill from an EX 93 dam who sold for $5000.
Top Holstein at $8,800 was Kaarmona Hayk Carly 365 who boasted a gBPI of +742 selling to L Stewart of Newbridge. Next high of $7,500 was Kaarmona Dynasty Carly 368 with a BPI of +718 selling to Adlejama Holsteins at $7,500.
Dairy Livestock Services report 11 Jersey cows averaged $5,686, 50 Jersey heifers $5,328, 4 Jersey Bulls $4,275, 34 Holstein heifers $4,828, 1 Holstein cow $3,500 - 100 head gross $513,700 with an average of $5,137.
