Investigations continue into pedestrian’s death

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision where a pedestrian died in Shepparton on Thursday, April 24.

Police said investigators were told a green 2007 Ford Falcon sedan was travelling south on Wyndham St when a pedestrian was struck, near the intersection of Rea St, about 11pm.

The male pedestrian, aged in his 60s, died at the scene.

Police said the car driver, a 24-year-old Tatura man, stopped at the scene and was taken to hospital under police guard.

He has since been interviewed by police and released pending further inquiries.

Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who saw the movements of the pedestrian or the Ford Falcon before the collision.
