Footy rivalries came to the fore around the region last week in the lead up to the AFL grand final.
For the St Michael’s Footy Colours Day on Friday - the last day of the school term - students dressed in their favourite footy team colours and participated in footy activities.
Hosted at the Hardinge St Oval from mid-morning, the students went through a rotation of skill drills and activities led by teachers, Year 6 students and Deniliquin High School helpers.
Family and friends of the school community were invited to pop down and share a barbecue lunch with the students and staff, and to get involved in the competitive but friendly competitions.
Students from Years 2, 3 and 4 formed a team to take on their parents, while the Year 5 and 6 kids formed another to take on theirs.
The day also saw students test their skills with a longest kick and accuracy challenges.
