A notorious road has claimed the life of another person after a crash on Christmas Eve.
Police said it was understood two motorcycles, both travelling north on Euroa-Mansfield Rd at Euroa, collided about 4.25pm on Sunday, December 24.
Police said the rider of the first motorcycle, a 77-year-old Lemnos man, received life-threatening injuries and was flown to hospital, but later died.
His pillion passenger, a teenage girl, received non-life-threatening injuries.
The rider of the second motorcycle, a 34-year-old Kialla man, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The passenger of this bike, a teenage girl, was uninjured.
The Lemnos man is the 41st life lost on roads within a 50-minute drive of the Shepparton central business district since New Year’s Eve.
He is also the third person to die in crashes on Euroa-Mansfield Rd since July.
An 18-year-old Shepparton woman died in a crash at Euroa on November 3.
A 59-year-old Shepparton man died after his ute left the road and went down a 10m embankment at Gooram on Sunday, July 9.
The speed limit was reduced on a 4.9km section of the road at Gooram, where the July fatality occurred, in December, but this crash did not occur in that section of the road.
