A driver was lucky to walk away largely unharmed after a crash where a car became airborne in Kyabram.

Emergency services responded to a single-vehicle collision at 7.20am on Monday, May 26.

Kyabram police Leading Senior Constable Russell Locke said a 40-year-old Kyabram man was driving south on John Allan Rd, approaching Graham Rd, when his car hit a channel bank.

The collision sent the white MG into the air before it landed in the channel bank on the side of the road, Leading Sen Constable Locke said.

He said the man got out of the car by himself and was checked by paramedics.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the man was taken to Echuca Regional Hospital in a stable condition after being treated for minor upper body injuries.

Leading Sen Constable Locke said police believed neither drugs nor alcohol were involved in the incident.

Police are investigating the matter.
