A number of local pools will offer swim lessons over the course of a week during summer.
State Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes announced that bookings had opened for Aquatics and Recreation Victoria’s VICSWIM Summer Kidz swim classes on Monday, November 17.
VICSWIM’s learn-to-swim program, which has been operating since 1976, teaches Victorian children aged four to 12 vital skills, such as water safety and foundation swimming.
At the Avenel Swimming Pool, Nagambie Swimming Pool and Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre, five 30-minute lessons will take place over a week in January at a cost of $43.
“A big part of summer holidays in Victoria involves fun by the water,” Ms Symes said.
“This program helps families by reducing the cost of lessons, which helps kids from all backgrounds be prepared and confident in and out of the water.”
