Crews battled bushfire north of Mooroopna

Warning: There was a bushfire on Tuesday afternoon north of Mooroopna.

An advice warning was issued for communities north of Mooroopna due to a bushfire on Tuesday afternoon.

Bunbartha and Coomboona residents were warned by Vic Emergency about the incident, but were told their respective towns were not under threat.

“29 CFA units responded to a grass and scrub fire on Trotter Rd in Mooroopna North at around 11.08am on May 7,” a CFA spokesperson told The News.

“On arrival, crews responded to multiple fires (spanning approximately) 5ha.

“A community information message was sent out.

“Victoria Police (was) also on scene.

“(The) incident was deemed under control at 1:29pm.

“Forest Fire Management Victoria were called to assist, and the incident has been handed over to them.”

CFA crews on scene included those from Mooroopna, Tongala, Merrigum, Goorambat, Kialla, Nathalia, Murchison and Echuca.
