Complimentary parking back for Christmas shopping

Greater Shepparton City Council will be spreading festive cheer for people looking for a car park this summer.

Complimentary car parking in council-owned on-street parking spaces returns next month.

The scheme is designed to support local businesses, and runs from Thursday, December 1 to Thursday, February 1, 2023.

Time limits will still apply for the parking spaces during this period and infringements will be issued if motorists overstay the time displayed on signs in the area.

Council’s advice for those planning to do a ‘big shop’ is to park in an off-street longer-stay car park, or park in an all-day space close to the CBD — these off-street car parks are complimentary all year round.

The complimentary parking does not apply to the multi-deck car park, GV Health or Care Park car parks.
