Community Living and Respite Services and We are Vivid’s fundraising dinner at Rich River Golf Club on Friday, June 14, was a great success.

The dinner with Ben Felten, the world’s fastest blind man on a motorcycle, and his navigator, former MotoGP rider Kevin Magee, was hosted by boxer and podcaster Tiffanee Cook.

The event raised close to $15,000 to be split evenly between the two organisations.

“At CLRS, we will use the money raised to go towards the Open Doors project,” CLRS chief executive Leah Taaffe said.

The project aims to help people who require assistance 24 hours a day to live more independent lives.

So far, the project has built six units in Echuca-Moama for people with disabilities.

Ms Taaffe said all the speakers were remarkable, as they shared their personal stories with the crowd.

“Tiffanee Cook as the MC was fantastic,” Ms Taaffe said.

“The way she led the conversations with these two powerful, strong, confident men — she absolutely killed it.

“Listening to the story of the bond and trust Ben and Kevin have in their relationship was really powerful.”
