Beloved Sub-branch members farewelled

The contributions by two long serving members of Mathoura’s RSL Sub-branch were acknowledged during the group’s meeting last week.

They were long term members, David and Faith Joss.

David made a huge contribution to ensuring Mathoura’s contribution to World War I did not go unnoticed.

He was responsible for the establishment of the World War I Honour Board erected in the Murray Shire Hall.

He later researched and printed a booklet recognising all the local World War I soldiers who did not come home.

The Joss’ were also very actively involved in local Anzac Day and Remembrance day services.

The committee wishes the couple well in their relocation to the Albury area.

Time is running out to obtain tickets for the next major entertainment at Mathoura Bowling Club.

And just for something different, the event won’t be held indoors.

The bowling greens will play host to the Luke Combs Tribute Show, supported by Stumbling North.

And with bookings already in the hundreds, it looks like we could be in need of an additional green to accommodate them all.

It’s that time of the year again - daylight saving is about to arrive!

So how and when do we change things?

I’m told Sunday night is when, and if you want to be ‘spot on’ with the change, the time is 2am and clocks go forward.

But if you don’t want to be that ‘spot on’, you can always change your clocks before you go to bed - even if the time to get up will get here earlier than you might expect.

Good luck with it all.
