Emergency services were called to a fire at a residential complex on Cobram’s Hay Ave on Friday, April 25.

Up to 10 trucks from the Cobram, Yarroweyah, Muckatah and Strathmerton CFA brigades arrived to find an apartment engulfed in flames at the property around 7.05pm.

A crowd of onlookers watched on as crews battled the inferno, with flames sending sparks and dark smoke into the night sky.

A 50-year-old man was reported to have been treated at the scene by Ambulance Victoria paramedics for smoke inhalation.

Ambulance Victoria later confirmed a man in his 50s was taken to Goulburn Valley Health in Shepparton in a stable condition.
