Shoppers in Shepparton were met with an unusual sight on Wednesday, May 7 — a miniature bull browsing a homewares store.
Viserys, a nine-month-old Miniature Belted Galloway bull, made his first visit to town as part of a quirky Mother’s Day promotion at Pinch of Salt, a home and lifestyle store on Fryers St.
Store owner Carolyn Young said the idea came from a phrase she hears often.
“People always say they feel like a bull in a china shop,” she laughed. “So I thought, why not bring in a real one?”
Viserys is part of BT Belties, raised by Carolyn’s son, Brody Young, since 2015.
To prepare for the visit, glass was covered to prevent reflections, and plastic sheets were laid across the floor.
While some passers-by mistook the bull for a large dog, many stopped to admire the calm and curious creature.
The visit brought a touch of rural charm to the CBD and reminded locals of the fun in shopping small.
