A young woman allegedly behind a series of organised crime shootings has been arrested and charged with conspiring to murder a high-profile gang figure.
NSW Police arrested a 23-year-old woman, whom they allege was involved in co-ordinating serious organised crimes, including shootings, conspiracy to murder, firearm offences and staging vehicles, in Whalan in western Sydney on Wednesday.
She has been charged with conspiring and agreeing to murder, participating in a criminal group and contributing to criminal activity.
The breakthrough came after Strike Force Subbard detectives investigating four public shootings in Colyton, St Johns Park and Panania earlier in 2026 linked the woman to the arrest of three men in April.
Police had pursued an allegedly stolen car on the Great Western Highway in Wentworthville after the driver failed to stop.
During the chase, the car's passengers were allegedly seen throwing jerry cans from the vehicle onto the M4 motorway near Silverwater.
Three men tried to run after the car was rammed in Lidcombe, but were arrested a short time later with the help of police helicopter and dog squads.
The men, a 28-year-old and two 24-year-olds, have been charged and remain before the courts.
Police allegedly found a semi-automatic rifle, a pistol and cloned number plates when searching the car, which they say was stolen from Edmondson Park in March.
As the investigation developed, detectives were able to link the car and plates to the woman, leading to her arrest.
She was refused bail to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court on Thursday.
