In one of Australia’s most competitive supermarket categories, the nation’s shoppers have spoken - and for the second year in a row, Norco has been named the country’s most satisfying fresh full cream milk.

Australia’s oldest and last operating 100 per cent farmer-owned dairy co-operative has taken out the Canstar 2026 Most Satisfied Customers - Fresh Full Cream Milk Award, reinforcing its position as a trusted staple in households across the country.

Based on independent research with Australians who have recently purchased and used fresh milk, the award recognises the brands performing best on what matters most at the checkout - from taste and freshness to value and overall experience - making it a powerful endorsement from everyday Australians.

Despite being produced in Northern NSW and Queensland, Norco has outperformed larger national and international brands in one of Australia’s most competitive grocery categories.

And in a category where loyalty is hard-won and competition is fierce, achieving back-to-back wins reflects the consistency and quality delivered by Norco’s farmer-owners and teams across the Cooperative.

The recognition also comes at a time when Australian producers and manufacturers are facing increasing pressure from rising input costs, shifting consumer behaviour and growing competition from imported goods, making the accolade even more meaningful.

Norco ceo Michael Hampson said the result reflects something bigger than brand preference.

“This isn’t just about milk - it’s about what Australians are choosing to support,” Mr Hampson said.

“Across dairy, manufacturing and agriculture, Australian owned and operated businesses are under increasing strain - even when they’re doing the right things, investing in their people and backing their communities.”

“There’s never been a more important time to support Australian, farmer-owned businesses, because those choices don’t just shape what’s on our shelves, they shape the future of our industries.”

Mr Hampson said the recognition ultimately belongs to the farmers behind every bottle.

“This isn’t judged in a boardroom - it’s decided by Australians in their weekly shop, and that makes it incredibly meaningful,” Mr Hampson said.

“To be recognised two years in a row speaks to the care, pride and consistency our farmers bring to what they do every single day, and our commitment to creating Australia’s best tasting dairy.”

With more than 130 years of heritage, Norco continues to operate under a unique model where every purchase directly supports its farmer-owners and regional communities.

“Every bottle of Norco milk supports Australian farming families and the communities they serve,” Mr Hampson said.

“This award is recognition of that connection between farmers and consumers, and the trust that comes with it.

“We’re incredibly grateful to our customers for their continued support, it’s something we never take for granted.”
