Man shot in 'targeted' attack at regional property

A man has been shot in what police believe was a targeted attack in regional Victoria. 

The incident unfolded in Ballarat in the early hours of Monday, with police called to a Sebastopol address about 1.30am.

"On arrival police located a man at the premises with a suspected gunshot wound," a Victoria Police spokesperson said.

"Police believe it was a targeted attack and there is no threat to any other person."

The man was taken to hospital for treatment. 

The armed crime squad is investigating the incident.
