The dust has settled, the throaty roar of engines has faded, and organisers now find themselves reflecting with bittersweet pride on what is no longer.
On Friday, September 26, Hussln held its fifth and final Charity Car and Bike Show, a motorhead mecca showcasing an impressive 140 cars and 30 bikes along Hogan St, Tatura.
But, as always, the funds raised for charity took centre stage.
This year’s show raised $5800 for Beyond Blue and Shepparton Foodshare, bringing the total amount since the event began to an incredible $16,800.
“We couldn’t be prouder of what this event has achieved — not just the money raised, but the way it’s brought people together,” event organiser and founder Cameron Scorey said.
“The support from the car and bike community, local businesses and the wider region has been incredible.
“We had prizes coming in from all over Australia and even from the USA.”
The day was a true community celebration, complete with a huge raffle and auction, trade stalls, custom trophies, hot food and coffee.
Yes, the final chapter couldn’t have been written any better, and Mr Scorey noted that none of it would have been possible without the generosity of sponsors, volunteers and prize donors.
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years,” he said.
