THE AWE-INSPIRING SUNFLOWERS OF TIMMERING PAINT A MESMERISING GOLDEN LANDSCAPE, INVITING VISITORS TO EXPERIENCE THIS FLEETING WONDER DURING FEBRUARY.
Adam and Claira Whipp, the passionate farmers behind this beloved annual tradition, are excitedly gearing up to share their stunning sunflower spectacle at their charming Timmering farm in Victoria.
The dedicated couple nurtures an astounding 12 hectares of sunflowers, lovingly planting an incredible 420,000 seeds each year to create this golden wonderland.
“We sow 35,000 seeds to the hectare, over 12 hectares, so 420,000 plants,” Adam said.
“We do it every year just to bring some joy to families and friends and let them come out, take some photos and play in the sunflowers for an hour or so.”
The Whipps throw open their farm gates on February weekends when the sunflowers are in full bloom.
Visitors can lose themselves in a sea of golden blooms, create picture-perfect memories, and bring home their very own slice of sunshine by hand-picking sunflowers to treasure.
The experience has been a hit, drawing hundreds from across Victoria, including Melbourne, Gippsland and Ballarat.
Enhancing the Sunflowers of Timmering experience, Claira showcases her professional photography expertise, offering bespoke sunset photoshoots for families, couples, children and friends when the sunflowers are at their radiant best.
Adam acknowledges the challenges of cultivating sunflowers, but beams with pride knowing the joy and wonder they bring to visitors’ faces make every effort worthwhile.
