Katie Keys.

How old are you? 43.

Where did you grow up? I grew up on a farm on the south coast of NSW and moved to Victoria and spent time in Warrnambool and then went to Kyabram and northern Victoria.

Where do you live now? Numurkah.

What do you do for work? I’m a teacher, I’m primary school trained, but for the last year I’ve been teaching at SMOTA (St Mary of the Angels) Nathalia.

What do you teach? Year 8 humanities and a lot of casual relief teaching, which is a bit of everything, really.

How do you relax? I’m a single parent of four boys so my times to relax are few and far between, but I do have a yappy little sausage dog and during downtime we like to go on walks along the creek in Numurkah or the lake in Shepp.

What do you like to do in Shepparton? I like to treat the kiddies sometimes and go out to dinner at Lazy Moes in Shepp and walk to Augustus Gelatery on Maude St.

Where do you see yourself in five years? I don’t really know, I would like to still be teaching, hopefully with a little bit more free time on my hands.

What advice would you give yourself from five years ago? The advice I would give would be you can do this, you’ve got this and you’ll come out the other side.
