THE ANNUAL FUN FLY EVENT IS TAKING OFF AT THE VMAA FLYING FIELD IN ECHUCA THIS AUTUMN.

Calling all wingmen and women — the Annual Fun Fly event is fast approaching, with dates locked in on April 15 and 16 for an incredible weekend in the sky.

The VMAA Flying Field — on Watson Rd, Kanyapella — is once again hosting the runway for the model planes.

Echuca Moama Model Aero Club secretary and treasurer Fred West said pilots from across Victoria could look forward to a jam-packed weekend of aircraft, camping and community.

“Pilots and spectators can see us fly many different types of model aeroplanes — aerobatic, jets and helicopters,” Fred said.

“All kinds of model aircraft are welcome.”

Pilots can make use of the camping facilities onsite so they don’t miss a minute of the action.

There’ll also be refreshments available, with a canteen, coffee and tea onsite.

Fred said the event wasn’t exclusively for owners of aircraft — it could be enjoyed by families of the pilots, as well as other spectators.

“It’s good to see people like me enjoy the sport and the camaraderie.”

Pilot entry fee is $10 and free entry for spectators.
