Works on Campaspe Weir

Upcoming Goulburn-Murray Water (G-MW) works at the Campaspe Weir between Rochester and Elmore will help improve water flows from the site.

The works include the installation of an automated SlipGate at the weir, the reinstatement of staff access and approach to the site, and erosion protection upstream of the weir wall.

The works are taking place after the weir’s structure was damaged during the October 2022 flood event.

The works will take place from Monday, November 10 to Monday, November 24.

G-MW Manager Diversions Groundwater and Streams Peter Clydesdale said there would be no service interruptions during the works.

“It’s fantastic to be delivering these works at the weir which will provide a number of benefits including helping to improve water flows from the site,” he said.

“Irrigators are reminded of the requirement to place orders at least four days in advance to ensure releases from Lake Eppalock arrive at their extraction sites on the day they intend to pump.

“While these works take place it’s important that community members are aware that access to the weir will be restricted.

“Fishing spots near the weir will still be accessible to the public.”
