The Hoppers were well defeated by a team who ran the ball in numbers with strong overlap and a solid forward target who kicked eight goals.

Fortunately for Rennie, Sam Ferguson continued his excellent season with his intercept marking and long defensive clearances a highlight.

Caleb Bruce and Boyd Preston were highlighted last week and continued to show many of their more senior teammates how to go about things with the head over the ball and using their skill set to move the ball to advantage.

Denver Bruce kicked the only two goals on a tough day.

The Hoppers had a big task against Deni Rovers but stood tall with Judd Long and Harry Giblett dominating all day.

Jasper Rhodes and Lenny Legudi were great moving the ball forward at all costs.

The boys were hit hard but never gave up, Taylor Lewis and Alex Hemphill fought hard showing strength winning possession and Sid Dowling throwing himself first to the ball was a fantastic effort by Rennie who fell five points short.

A Grade

Deniliquin 55 def Rennie 19

It's always a challenge to face the elite team of Deni but with a sniff of a chance to play finals the girls have been focusing on their own goals and not who they are playing.

With resilience the theme of the week coach Kayla set tasks and mind sets for the girls and they didn't disappoint, she was so proud of their efforts.

Laynee Rhodes consistently pushed through game with high intensity, brilliant passes and taking on the chin whatever came her way.

Mabel Cope rose to the occasion against quality defenders and at the tender age of 15 did the whole club proud showing resilience and tenacity.

The ever reliable defenders Chelsea, jenika and Sam worked together and forced many turnovers which had taken Deni by surprise.

With such a young playing group on the day, positive signs of growth were had and the girls deserve a pat on the back for their efforts.

Awards: RNC Incentive- Laynee Rhodes, Mulwala Bakery- Mabel Cope, Yarrawonga Hotel- Lindsay Pearson, Royal Mail Hotel- Heleena Shaw, Miss Dolly- Ella Lewis.

B Grade

Deniliquin 58 def Rennie 22

It was an important game celebrating Ebb’s 150th Senior game, B Grade all took the court with nothing to lose and gave it their all.

Even though the side didn’t come away with the win, B Grade was pleased with the teamwork, effort and positivity all players gave on the day.

Shooters Ebb, Haylee and Chloe worked together, and moved well and made the most of their opportunities with mid courters Alainah and Mia feeding the ball in confidently.

The defensive end consisting of Georgia, Lucy, Mykie and Lindsay had a never give up attitude against some great shooters.

B Grade are now looking forward to being home for the last two games to finish of the season strong.

C Grade

Another tough game for the C-Grade girls this week.

It was great to see everyone working on what we have been practicing at training.

The defensive pressure down the court was fantastic.

Every single player focused on the second effort.

Despite the score, it was a really good team game.

Thanks to Loz and Charlotte for helping the team.

Awards: Yarrawonga Bakery- Rach Guppy, Yarrawonga News & Gifts- Tegan Lee, Northeast Campers- Tess Bassett, Yarrawonga Hotel- Georgia Nicholson, Hustl- Charlotte Burrows.

C Reserve

Deniliquin 48 def Rennie 8

After a five-game winning streak the C-Reserves were feeling a little big for their boots and in need of some humbling, so a trip to Deniliquin was in order.

With co-captain Edos speedos officially out for the season, off to her hot girl Euro summer to be the captain of Sail Croatia, co-captain (and 50 gamer) Mel Money was left to lead the gals to victory.

Unfortunately, the only victory secured that day was the toss, C Reserves showed them there.

Going down by a measly 40 goals the gals wish they had of just Deniliquit the game by the fourth quarter.

But that wouldn't be in the tenacious C-Reserves spirit, which is one of the three main traits it takes be a hopper along with the being good looking and athletic.

Although Rennie got smoked more the pizza oven at Ricky D’s when Shezza McBurnie is working, the gals kept up the communication and positive vibes.

Nothing a quick stop off at the Blighty Pub couldn't repair and heal, those eight goals were well earnt.

Congrats again Mel on playing her 50th and to Jasi stepping in to help us out.

Under 17s

Deniliquin 60 def Rennie 31

The Under 17s girls weren't at all concerned with the outcome of the game against Deni. The girls wanted to focus on their attitude and want for the ball.

All girls throughout the game showed massive improvement with chasing down loose balls, backing each other up and generally knowing what it takes to play better as a team.

Samantha Knight worked tirelessly in the defensive circle to contest and caused Deni to readjust their game.

Zoe Freestone and Mia Brogan worked the midcourt just as they have been practicing at training and showed how working together can make the game so much easier.

Ella Lewis and Mabel Cope were accurate as ever in the goal ring and making the most of every opportunity as they came.

Well done girls on not giving up and making sure that they stayed focused on their goals for the game and not letting the score impact their improvement.

Under 15s

Deniliquin 45 def Rennie 12

The Under 15s always knew this week was going to be tough coming up against Deni who were still high on the ladder.

However, this week the girls seemed to be very calm and relaxed showing minimal signs of nerves.

Their calmness was noticed on the court at the start of the game coming out with strong passes, drives and great encouragement all around.

While the Under 15s made some mistakes throughout the game the girls held their heads high got their hands up and got the ball back a lot of the time.

A new combo emerged today within the mid-court.

Sienna had taken the centre position, with Dakota was deployed in wing attack; the combination proved to be great.

The girl’s patience around the ring was immaculate with the support of Michelle, Ruby, Kate and Lily when needed the girls would rest and not once did, they force it into the ring.

While Deni came out on top this week. The Rennie girls made them work hard for that win and held their own all game.

Well done girls.

Under 13s

Rennie 10 def by Deniliquin 18

The rain held off for the Under 13’s game thankfully but it was still a cold start.

With nothing to lose, the Rennie girls went out there and gave it 110 per cent and played their best game this season as a team and it showed with the girls being up by 1 at half time.

The award winners on the day led by example.

Ella took numerous intercepts and read the ball so well coming into the defensive end which put pressure on the Deni attackers passes into the ring.

Tay who was also playing in defence applied pressure to shooters and held space well in the goal ring for rebounds and cleared it out of defence.

Zali worked tirelessly once again, was finding the front position and was a reliable option for passing into attack.

Lennie’s strong hands and feeds into the circle were just what we need to give the shooters the confidence to keep moving.

Ava worked hard in attack with confidence in her shooting and rebounding well.

Overall the Under 13s worked well as a team and the work ethic of all girls this week was next level.
